To advertise the courses banners were erected as the pictures show, Priory Training Services has a mention, although I have never heard of anyone who calls her “Geraldine”.
Gerry seems to have been a hit as she is embarking on another trip during February and March 2006 to continue her work in a village called Dakau.
When Gerry was not running courses she was helping with voluntary work in the surrounding villages.
Whenever Gerry goes out to The Gambia she always sends out ahead a couple of containers of donated equipment, such as wheelchairs, pencils, paper etc.
The cost of sending a container by sea to Gambia is in excess of £1500 all of which Gerry funds herself.
Its worth noting that Gerry has been going out to Gambia for over ten years most of the time having to pay her way.
We are lucky to have someone as dedicated as Gerry who gives up a lot of her free time in order to help others. |
